The SafeJournalists Network, which gathers more than 8,200 media professionals in the Western Balkans, joins its member, the Association of Journalists of Macedonia, in supporting the March – for the Defense of Journalist Dignity that will be held in Skopje on Friday (17.02).

We stand side by side with our Macedonian colleagues in their efforts for raising the voice about: immediate adoption and implementation of the laws that are important for the rights of journalists and the work of the media and their consistent implementation, ending the state PR that may infringe the public interest, respecting the labor rights and the safety of the media workers in performing their professional duties, on a national and local level in the Republic of North Macedonia.

We will remain dedicated to observing the state of rights of journalists and the state of media freedom in this country. At the same time, we congratulate AJM on its 77th anniversary and salute their dedicated efforts to defend journalistic dignity for Macedonian journalists and media workers.
