Sarajevo, 10.11.2020. – European Journalism COVID-19 Support Fund, in partnership with the Facebook Journalism Project (FJP), gave 68 new grants to the media organizations and freelancers as a support during COVID-19 crisis.

Through the Emergency Fund, 30 news organisations and 24 freelancers are receiving grants ranging between €5,000 and €25,000 to address critical business needs and support community engagement initiatives. 

Through the Endurance Fund, 14 news organisations are being awarded between €10,000 and €25,000. These grants are supporting news organisations that have pivoted, or are pivoting their business model during the COVID-19 crisis.

Through Wave 1 and Wave 2 of the European Journalism COVID-19 Support Fund, the EJC has awarded, to date, a total of 162 core funding grants to news organisations and freelancers in 35 countries in Europe. Since the Fund launched in April, their team has reviewed a total of 2,699 applications.
